ZFS: the new benchmark for Ubuntu 12.04

It’s been a bit ‘last benchmark of the Sun filesystem, ZFS, but ow it came to new for the new operating system of Canonical, the well-known than Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and, apparently, ZFS works well on a hard drive or on an SSD.
The ZFS filesystem support is not in the mainline Linux kernel because of its license (CDDL) incompatible with the GPL.

The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, for this reason, it releases all its public sources, thus the user is free to be able to compile the kernel modules alone.

Ubuntu 12.04 – Jono Bacon published Blueprints

After the Ubuntu Developer Conference Community Manager Jono Bacon’s plans to Ubuntu developers listed Precise alias 12:04 Pangolin.

In his blog post are the current projects listed in the development cycle of 12:04 and the related tasks in the form of blueprints already registered. His review was not complete, however, warns Bacon.
