In Shogun focuses on the wide use of different methods and tools for solving pattern recognition problems, such as support vector method (SVM) , a step by step discriminant analysis , regression analysis , perceptrons , learning algorithms are hidden Markov models and others. Most tools are based on the method of support vector machines. You can also use a combination of methods.
Shogun written in C + + and provides interfaces for MATLAB, Octave, Python, and R.
This release contains significant enhancements:

Support for new PL (Java, C #, Ruby, Lua) in modular interface;

added new learning algorithms ( LLE , HLLE , LTSA and others);

Support MATLAB 2011a;

bug fixes, code cleaning, changes in the API, and much more.

As part of Google Summer of Code 2011 project were five students , a part of their work was included in the submitted release.
