Listaller 0.5.4 released
by admin ·
The distribution independent installer Listaller was rewritten and published in version 0.5.4, which is stated by the developer, the first usable version.
Listaller is a project with the aim of the ways to install software on Linux distributions, expand and improve. Listaller has taken over parts of the set autopackage project and is also cooperating with Zero Install, which, however, has more ambitious goals.
The developers of Listaller believe that the way to add a package source (eg a PPA on Ubuntu) to the system, just to get the latest version of a program, and dangerously excessive for this purpose is simple. To circumvent this problem, provides a distribution Listaller common set format available, can be published using the software for all Linux distributions. In addition, the project provides tools to create cross-distribution software.
