Editra 0.7.20

Editra – powerful and flexible multi-platform text editor, which is to create an easy to use interface and help in the development of software. It currently supports syntax highlighting and many other useful features for over 60 programming languages. The project is under development, but are available to download and stable version. Licensed and is freely available for use in accordance with WxWindows License .

Editor features extended with plugins .

In this version:

  • Expanded support for lighting cascading stylesheet (CSS) is almost ready and support CSS3;
  • Updated plug FileBrowser to version 2.2;
  • Multiple bug fixes.

Rails Girls: Programming Workshops for Women

The free workshop series Rails Girls Women want more insight into programming using Ruby on Rails.

Participants bring the two-day workshop with their own laptops. A group of teachers they then accompanied by the installation of the framework to first own Rails application. The trainings will be held in English, the working group is allowed to speak German. Incidentally, the event offers an opportunity to establish relationships with other technology-interested participants.

Software Freedom Day 2012 in Novosibirsk

Software Freedom Day in Novosibirsk, held for the fourth time. This year it was decided to transfer the celebration of 23 th September.

Events will be held at NSU in the main building with 12 hours of the day. The event is planned by the participants free projects, master classes, as well as tea and competitions with prizes. For the convenience of students master classes were divided into 5 sections:

  • programming – a review of several unusual programming languages and development platforms;
  • System Administration – workshops on how to configure the various servers, anonymous network and Bitcoin;

Real-time sniffer: Junkie 2.2.0

Junkie The Sniffer, a tool for real-time analysis of network traffic is available in version 2.2.0 with new features.

The new release supports multiline HTTP headers and can play back recordings in a loop. She also feels faster on deadlocks. Junkie can pass NetTrack values now on the GNU Guile programming language that is used to write extensions. The Guile-compiled files, the tool before it loads. In addition, there is now more detailed documentation in the “doc” directory.

New editor – Enki

In recent years the practice was not uncommon when the ACT developers announced plans to organize a new project only if the financial support from the users. Frequent are also cases where it would seem a promising project, labored prealfoy, returned to the underworld.

The creators of a new text editor, as Enki chose a different path. Work on being an editor in the fall of 2011, but only 10 August 2012 the developers submitted to the public a finished product.

Who writes a Python game in a week?

The Python Game Programming Challenge is challenging the participants of the Week 9 to 16 September 2012, a complete game. Registration begins in the next few days.

Participation is possible for both individual and for teams. A week before the start of a topic is specified, the programmers put in Python. They must not use any existing code, but have the game “from scratch” writing. The use of libraries, however, is permitted in addition may involve the participants existing graphics and music.

Released NetBeans 7.2 IDE

NetBeans – is a popular cross-platform integrated development environment with open source software that allows you to create applications in many programming languages (Java, PHP, Javascript, C, C + + and others).The recently published version 7.2 came out. NetBeans is available in several languages, some of whom are Russian.

In this release, the emphasis was on improving productivity and facilitating the development process using static code analysis. Of the important changes should also be noted integration with JavaFX Scene Builder, support for multiple PHP-frameworks, enhanced support for Groovy, built-in Subversion 1.7.
