From the cubes into a multi-threaded process control

The cube competition from the Linux Magazine 09/2010 holds a number of surprises up its sleeve: At present, participants roll the more than 100 for the finals against each other. Here’s are a number of hurdles to overcome.
The first challenge was simply to extract all the source code from the mail and record. Most had indeed deposited in an accompanying letter botname and participants name a dozen such information has, however, only an intense source code analysis brought to light. Second step was translating and unifying the call interface. Since there were all kinds of modules, compiler, interpreter and libraries to reload. The restriction on finished Debian packages has helped considerably, but even here there were then 10 percent of bots, the 90 percent of the work of this step have caused.
