Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot) is ready

Punctually at the scheduled date, the developers have now 15th Ubuntu issue, codenamed Ocelot Oneiric completed.

In the release announcement for Kate Stewart writes that the user with Unity as desktop software and the revised Center finds an easy to use interface.

The support for Ubuntu is 11:10 for the next 18 months to April 2013, Stewart said. Available for download desktop and server edition.

Second beta of Ubuntu Oneiric Ocelot

11:10 Ubuntu Beta 2 is here and brings some changes, especially in the server space. These include Orchestra, Juju and the reintroduction of Xen.

The Beta 2 brings a new version of Unity and Compiz, which – according to the release notes contains a few changes -. This is the name of the “places” now “lenses”, probably meant here are the file names. In this course more advanced filters have been introduced that allow the user to filter based on ratings and categories.

OneConf holds the installed files in sync on multiple computers.

Taking into account information about the installed software in Ubuntu’s Cloud ubuntuone stored and retrieved as needed and transferred to other Ubuntu machine.

The other changes described include the new [Alt] + [Tab] window, a lens for Banshee music, over which one has direct access to music files from the private collection and a better performance and launcher panel. The Software Center has been further revised and single optical Debian packages can be installed more quickly.

Second alpha of Ubuntu Oneiric

Ubuntu evolves 11:10: The second alpha is available for downloading on the servers. Thunderbird comes for the first time as the default e-mail solution for use. Also, the first components of GNOME 3.1 are one of the party.

Once again, Kate Stewart Canonical announced on the Devel-Announce mailing list on a trial version of Ubuntu. Yesterday, the second alpha released from Oneiric Ocelot, also known as Ubuntu 11.10. In mid-October, the new version is to appear officially, but some changes already put in the Alpha 2
Who wants to know, what about the alpha version, details can be found to existing problems and errors in the test report from the Ubuntu team for quality assurance. More details about the included features, however, betray the release notes . New on board are Firefox and Thunderbird in version 5 and the 3.0 kernel.

Alpha 1 for Ubuntu Oneiric Ocelot

Canonical has released the first alpha of Ubuntu 11.10, which already contains the essential Gnome-3 libraries.
On the Devel-Announce mailing list yesterday announced Canonical Kate Stewart , the first alpha of Ubuntu 11:10 “Oneiric Ocelot” at. Besides the new kernel 2.6.39, which , unfortunately, no patch for the known energy-saving problem still contains , should in particular the integration of Gnome 3 may be interesting.
