KDE 4.9 RC2 SC

The KDE project has released the second release candidate of KDE SC 4.9. The new version of the Qt-based desktop environment will eliminate many errors and bring many new features.

The second release candidate of KDE 4.9 SC is used for further testing of the environment after the APIs, dependencies and features are frozen and not subject to further changes. But according to the KDE team fixed-growing test more than one hundred errors. Automated testing and continuous integration will help to further improve the quality of KDE SC.

KDE 4.9 RC1 Released

It is shortly to release the new and final branch of KDE 4, version 4.9, which will be released after KDE 5, the new KDE, but should not lead to a drastic change as rather occurred between version 3 and 4, then see the latest (just past) innovations in KDE 4
  • Dolphin is upgraded by improving the visualization of searches on metadata. Files can be renamed in line, offering a user experience much easier.
  • General improvements in system performance and bug fixes that make the user experience easier than ever (according to developers)
  • Greater integration of files, windows and other resources, users can now attach files to the windows of activities, thus enjoying a more organized workspace properly. Folders can now show the files related to an activity, making it easier to associate with a specific context.
