Development of Gnome 3.8 mostly completed

Plans for the development of language D3

Recently in the blogs of developers programming language D and its reference compiler dmd was reported that the D2 branch will soon be frozen and no further changes will be made other than correcting significant and repetitive mistakes. In owls main developer Walter Bright’s D is due to the fact that D2 had become too stable and make it new properties is dangerous. Another developer — a famous programmer Andrei Alexandrescu expressed concern about the fact that the quality of the implementation of D2 in dmd has reached a level where it can be used for specific application projects. According to the authors of both the above problems are insurmountable obstacle to the implementation in D2 of new, more advanced concepts and innovative ideas.

Android SDK r17 brings real-time network monitor

Google has released a new version of Android software development kit for r17 brings among other things, a much faster emulator for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X as well as real-time network statistics.

Tapestry 5.3 released

Text editor Vim was 20 years old

Exactly 20 years ago saw the release of the first public release of the text editor Vim, still enjoys great popularity among developers. Vim was originally developed for the Amiga platform as an editor for working with source code.
