Libre Office 3.5 Beta 1 released

As you can see from the recently released beta version, will bring LibreOffice 3.5 includes lots of small improvements over version 3.4.

The usability of the free office suite will benefit significantly.

In libre Office 3.5 Beta 1 for color selection tool has been rewritten, so it should be modern and more usable. An initial port to GTK + 3 was started, it is thanks to the Broadway-backends in a position to make LibreOffice run in the browser.

Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.0 public beta test

Linux distributor Red Hat has released a public beta version of the new version 3.0 of its virtualization Enterprise Virtualization solution.

In August, Red Hat, a first beta version for a closed group of users published. Now a new beta version of Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV) 3 prepared on the website of the product. To download, however registration is required.

Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization based on Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) and, according to the distributor’s significantly cheaper than competing solutions. The new version 3.0 was compared to the first trial further improved and optimized. Management technologies have been under the name oVirt placed under a free license.

The Enterprise Virtualization Manager is RHEV 3.0 is a Java application that runs on the JBoss Enterprise Application Platform.

Firefox 7.0.1 fixes a problem – 8 new beta brings

Mozilla has had to pushing forward shortly after the release of version 7 is a little update. Meanwhile, the beta version of Firefox is to have eight.

Disappeared enhancements are the reason why Firefox a few days after the completion of version 7.0.1 is available as 7 already. Some users have complained about some hidden add-ons, the developers state. This bug is now fixed, it is the new version for download or via the update function.

11:10 Ubuntu Beta 2 released

The second beta release of Ubuntu scheduled for October 2011 11:10 “Oneiric Ocelot” wants to keep the list of installed software packages in sync on different computers.

The second beta version of Ubuntu 11:10 »Oneiric Ocelot” is ready for testing. Nearly three weeks after the first beta version beta 2 brings some new features. Thus, the Ubuntu community has created installation images for ARM systems. because of the diversity of the ARM architecture for an image of the first Toshiba netbook AC100 is available. One for the Freescale i.MX53 development board Quickstart will follow in a few days.

Second beta of Ubuntu Oneiric Ocelot

11:10 Ubuntu Beta 2 is here and brings some changes, especially in the server space. These include Orchestra, Juju and the reintroduction of Xen.

The Beta 2 brings a new version of Unity and Compiz, which – according to the release notes contains a few changes -. This is the name of the “places” now “lenses”, probably meant here are the file names. In this course more advanced filters have been introduced that allow the user to filter based on ratings and categories.

OneConf holds the installed files in sync on multiple computers.

Taking into account information about the installed software in Ubuntu’s Cloud ubuntuone stored and retrieved as needed and transferred to other Ubuntu machine.

The other changes described include the new [Alt] + [Tab] window, a lens for Banshee music, over which one has direct access to music files from the private collection and a better performance and launcher panel. The Software Center has been further revised and single optical Debian packages can be installed more quickly.

The first beta of openSUSE 12.1 is delayed

The openSUSE project has postponed tomorrow’s planned for the first beta release of OpenSuse 12.1 for about two weeks to get to grips with problems with Systemd.

The new service init Systemd already caused a bit of a headache for some time under the openSUSE developers. The release manager Stephan Kulow has now decided to postpone for tomorrow sat in beta version to a maximum of two weeks, so the version gets the necessary stability for a beta release.

Ubuntu sends a monospace font in the beta test

The SPI design team expanded the Ubuntu family of writing a monospace font.

Send for about half a year of development work, the designers of the font in a closed beta test. Participants will test the script on as many systems and in particular terminal emulators, and on consoles.

11:10 Ubuntu Beta 1 released

The beta version of Ubuntu scheduled for October 2011 11:10 “Oneiric Ocelot” brings an updated version of the new Unity desktop environment and a new minimum-users, which can serve as a starting point for your own distribution.

The first beta version of Ubuntu 11:10 “Oneiric Ocelot” is ready for testing. This version introduces two new variants of the Canonical Distribution. The first is called “Ubuntu Core” and is a reduced edition of Ubuntu that will be better suited as a base for custom distributions. The second is Lubuntu, the desktop environment LXDE installed.

Ubuntu 11:10 Beta1 comes to scale DVD images that only 1.5 GB in size. This makes them more manageable, according to Canonical. CD images are still available.

Unity has evolved , so has the concept of “places” to “fields of view (Scopes) and lens” expands. The indicators have been improved visually, and a separate power status indicator has been inserted.

Evolution was Thunderbird replaced by e-mail client. Déjà Dup was accepted as a standard backup utility. The Twitter client Gwibber should be adapted in the new version of Gnome and faster third Gnome itself is currently in version 3.1.5 and is included until the release of Ubuntu yet updated to 3.2 11:10. The Ubuntu software center was expanded with a view of the best rated packages in all categories, allows you to modify and delete your own reviews and packages to install much faster.
