New since LV2
by admin ·
Recently witnessed several significant developments relating LV2 – modular open API to create audio and MIDI-plugin.
After several years of development, released a new version of a set of plug-ins called Calf . The new version includes about 20 new effects and plug-ins for mastering. The interface has been significantly upgraded, written documentation prepared by the new site.
Updated to version 1.2.0 specification itself LV2 (1.0 release took place earlier this year.) It has several new extensions: options, buf-size, morph. The latter is interesting because it allows you to dynamically change the port type.
New extensions of 1.2.0 are used in several projects. The first is FOMP - port plug MCP, VCO, FIL and WAH at LV2. The original version, written for LADSPA, intended for use in modular synthesizers, and more.
The second is a new module convoLV2 , applying convolution to the audio signal. The project is in some ways repeats the already existing and well-established IR.LV2 , but designed for wider application and while that is more a demonstration of the technology.
Finally, Rui Nuno Capela (by MIDI-sequencer Qtractor), previously castigated LV2, wrote for three of its own plug-in to this API, and the progress is clearly not going to stop:
