Installing GIMP 2.8.2 in Ubuntu 12.04

A few days ago presented the correction release GIMP 2.8.2, released with minor changes and correction of errors.

Among the innovations:

  • Fixed storage options for load / save files in JPEG;
  • Fixed positioning of inserted elements;
  • Performance improved on-screen filters, especially when working with color.

The new release does not include any new features, but mostly just different fixes. According to plans , the next stable version of GIMP 2.10, will combine the tools of transformation, and also includes complete support for GEGL and images of high bit rate.

Installing GIMP 2.8.2 in Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin

Setting is available from the PPA for Ubuntu 12.04:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/gimp sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install gimp

For other distributions for the installation files are available from the download page .
