XobotOS – Android port to C #

XobotOS – project of Xamarin , whose goal is to port Android to Java / Dalvik on C # for the study of the advantages C # in terms of performance, and resource consumption, as well as to provide a promising platform for creating mobile applications for Android, and for Apple iOS and Windows Phone.
Work began in 2011 with Android 2.x, currently the majority (more than a million lines of code) XobotOS rewritten in C # with Android 4.0. Currently, direct access to the graphics engine Skia , used by Android, through a library Java, which subsequently should also be replaced with Mono.
According to the developers, as a result of porting XobotOS shows a much higher performance and lower power consumption compared to Android.
