To celebrate the new version of Ubuntu is also an updated 12:04 Rescue Remix for data recovery.
The live system does not use a graphical desktop environment, and makes small demands on the hardware configuration of the computer. Among the software packages , there are file system and disk tools such as ntfsprogs, parted, partimage, and smartmontools. It also contains the Rescue distribution forensics programs that can be used also to save data, including, Sleuthkit, Photorec and Foremost. The new addition to the recent release called Ddrutility and is a wrapper script for GNU separate utilities. The tool finds all files on a disk that have broken block.

The developer of the Blender Foundation have expanded their 3D rendering software to a number of new features and is available in version 2.63.

In Blender 2.63 , the new network system has been added BMesh that n-sided polygons supported. Previously, users had in this area with triangles or blocks survive. BMesh belongs to a new resolution tool that can remove the vertices and faces are without holes thereby resulting in the net. New Paste-Cutting plotter and also benefit from the many-sided polygons and facilitate users work.

The company SugarCRM has presented at the Open House Sugar Con their eponymous software for customer relationship management in version 6.5.

The makers of CRM emphasize the renewed search function, which also flanks the refreshed interface. The user navigates now with a full text search in the application. The frontend can be according to the manufacturer in any browser and on mobile devices display.

Plasma Active 3 will get a completely new file browser based on Nepomuk and QML.

The developer Marco Martin introduced the new file browser as a central element of Plasma Active 3 in front of his blog. The File Browser relies largely on the Nepomuk framework and therefore does not like ordinary file manager. Rather, the user can access files stored in the tablet as by type or by creation date or sort of multi-touch gestures to select or tag. Furthermore, the application includes a viewer.

Today, after almost a year and a half after the previous release, a new version of lightweight Xfce desktop environment under number 4.10.

The main changes are

:

• Completely rewritten Application Finder, joining the functions of a xfrun4;
• In the main panel, a new vertical mode «Deskbar Mode», in which the plugins are arranged in several rows;
• The new editor of the MIME-types that allows you to easily customize standard applications;

According to plan the release of version 2.63 the best free 3D-editor – Blender. What’s new:

• BMesh – a new system of mesh, which removes the limitation in 3 or 4 vertices in a polygon and allows you to create N-sided polygons. In particular, it is a tool Dissolve, which allows you to delete the vertices, edges and faces without the formation of holes in the mesh, a new tool Inset; greatly improved tool Knife, which uses the advantage of N-the runs to generate clean cuts. Tools Subdivide and Loop Cut and form a clean topology.
• Render engine Cycles. Added a panoramic camera, the passage of shadows (shadow render pass), Ambient Occlusion, a few other improvements.

The stable release of a set of libraries EFL (Enlightenment Foundation Library) 1.2, the components of which form the basis of the project Enlightenment 17.

EFL libraries allow you to create visually appealing graphical user interfaces, characterized by compactness, low resource consumption and high performance. These qualities make EFL attractive solution for building interfaces, consumer electronics and mobile devices. For example, a system based on the EFL is used in household appliances Electrolux , phones, Samsung, and also in the products of companies ProFUSION, Free.fr and Calaos. Last but not least the success of EFL among commercial companies provided the license BSD.

The Scientific Linux distribution Red Hat-based Branch has updated its fifth
This pulls the RHEL distribution for their model, from which sources they created their free packages. Also updates the Linux, which is used as at CERN, the stackable file system AUFS and firmware for WLAN chips from Ralink and Intel and installed the latest security fixes for Sun’s Java. The network file system Open AFS version 4.1.14 fixes with a small locking bug. Further details can be found in the release notes .
