Vienna Calling

In April and May, it’s that time again, Linux and Open Source is touring Austria. We start with the LinuxTag in Graz, which is already on the lookout for interesting articles , and on 28 April to take place. The deadline for submissions is mid-March. On 3 May it then goes on in Vienna and until the fifth May Also here are the makers already on the search for exhibitors and contributions .
The Linux weeks in Vienna for this year following priorities in the program: Audio, Multimedia & Arts (sound design, video editing, …), content management, web applications, web programming, data protection, encryption, free software (GNU, GPG, gate, …) Robotics and Control (Arduino, Lego Mindstorm, …), GIS, spatial data, open data (Grass, OpenStreetMap, QGIS, …), IT security, programs for home and office PCs (office, browser, email, …), smartphones, hardware and software (eg Android), software application development to embedded devices, graphics, visualization, 3D (Gimp, Blender, Inkscape, …) Games & Game Design & Development Level Editing, system administration, cloud and cluster virtualization. By 1 April you can submit entries.
Especially under the point and 3D graphics you will probably find a lot this year, since the libre graphics meeting will also take place at this period under the umbrella of linux weeks. This is where the developers, probably nearly all known open source programs from the graphics area to exchange ideas. Those who own all the wonderful program like GIMP, Inkscape, Scribus, Blender, Digikam, Hugin, Krita, MyPaint, Pitivi and many other uses and will give a little thanks for it, has a chance here. The Libre Graphics Meeting has, like last year again Pledgie , which can be used to support the LGM, the money is used to support the developers arriving at the travel costs. It is therefore worthwhile to participate in the Linux weeks in Vienna. I’ll probably even quite sure how all years, again be represented on the spot and safely with workshops on Inkscape & Co. and his lectures.
