Zero image: fast and lossless image compression

by admin ·

The KDE developers Christoph Feck has image zero (“iz” spoken, “easy”) presented a lossless compression algorithm for images, in addition to a high compression rate and can still score with a high speed.

image zero should be used especially where users often open and save images, some with image editing programs. Information about the losses that occur for example in JPG images to get at, Feck evaluated in recent months, several lossless image compression algorithms. In their comparison in Lossless Compression Benchmark photo he was disappointed with PNG and JPEG-LS. On the one hand, they worked him some too slow, on the other hand, they were provided with patents. Consequently, he decided to make it better and initiated zero image, a high-performance, lossless codec for RGB pictures.

In one embodiment, the device is connected to a wireless network uses 8-digit number called a PIN-ohm and generated an access point, which must be entered on the device.
