End of Life for Debian Lenny is coming

The Security Support for Debian 5.0 alias lenny release ends in early February 2012.

The Moritz Muhlenhoff has the security team of the Linux distribution on its mailing list informed .


The end-of-life date is calculated from the fact that the latest version of Debian 6.0 (Squeeze) on 6 was published in February 2011, and the users get a year’s time to upgrade.

After the deadline there will be no new security fixes for more. Provided repairs until then remain available over the security repository.
