Colorhug: Open-source colorimeter

The developer Richard Hughes has developed an inexpensive colorimeter whose hardware and software under free licenses.
The box is called Colorhug for calibrating computer monitors. The unit measures 33 x 43 x 21 millimeters and has a USB port.
The measured values were reading convert into an ICC color profile.
Fedora 16 brings about the necessary software already, next to it is available for free download.
The product price of 60 British pounds (70 euros) is significantly below the proprietary products such as Pantone, which, however, offer more features. The first buyers will receive the product at a discounted price of 48 GBP (56 EUR), Hughes still there with children’s diseases and expects employees to interested developers wishes.
Colorhug say this colorimeter, the software, firmware and hardware are open source.
