Trisquel GNU / Linux 5.0

The Linux distribution Trisquel is Software Freedom Day on 17 September appeared in version 5.0.

The release uses 2.6.38 kernel in a Linux-Libre-version, so no proprietary drivers and firmware. This reflects the general philosophy of the distribution, which relies exclusively on free software components. Equipment belongs to weitren Libre Office 3.3.3 and Mozilla-based abrowser in version 6.02.


Version 5.0 is available with either Gnome or 2:32 in the lightweight edition Trisquel Mini with LXDE as the desktop environment. In the latter, even resource-saving applications such as Abiword are used.
