OpenSUSE Build Service is to open Build Service

Suse Build Service has a new name and new website.

This was announced openSUSE community manager Jos Poortvliet. This allows the service to maintain as open Build Service, the former abbreviation OBS. With http://open-build-service.org is also the perfect domain to the new name.

The name change is to loud Poortvliet reflect the fact that the build service already serves not only the openSUSE project to build software packages. The service creates packages for distributions like Debian, Fedora and Ubuntu, there was only the build software to projects like VLC and Meego and in companies worldwide. The public authority under count now over 27,000 users who can know openSUSE community manager.

Information about OBS and the software as an appliance or in packages, it is more on the new homepage . The Gitorious repository for GPL-licensed source code is linked there as well. It is now also commercial support for companies on sale, the plan to use the build service.
