Ubuntu 11.04 – Last beta before the release

With a second and reportedly also the last test version, Ubuntu is approaching 11:04 aka Natty Narwhal, scheduled for completion in late April.

The Beta 2 does not present any remarkable changes, the developers were engaged in a bug fix. One of the biggest innovations in Ubuntu 11:04 is one of the slim desktop Unity, which replaces the default Gnome desktop. Who does not like to get used to the Classic session with Gnome installed.


In addition to the various offshoots such as Ubuntu and Kubuntu, and Xubuntu have reached the Beta 2. The server edition of Ubuntu has facilitated a part of the name: Ubuntu Server Edition is now only Ubuntu Server. The download and installation instructions are there on the Ubuntu 11.04 .
