Gartner: OS market to grow to $ 30 billion

The U.S. market researcher Gartner does in his analysis for the worldwide operating system market in 2010 on a turnover of 30 billion U.S. dollars.

This represents a growth of almost eight percent over the previous year. Linux (mainly in the server field) and Mac OS X are among the fastest growing sub-segments. Market leader Microsoft is seen with 78.6 percent of all operating system types and supporting.
Overall, have client operating systems with 9.3 percent better growth than the server (5.7 percent). During the economic crisis and now redeemed, deferred purchases were responsible for the increase in clients.
