OCS Inventory 2.0 as a release candidate

Mojolicious 1.0

ROSA Desktop 2010.2

Company ROSA Lab. announces its first release distribution – ROSA Desktop 2010.2.

ROSA Desktop is a new platform for Russian organizations of desktop and mobile workstations for commercial, educational and government institutions.

Final assembly is based on packet-based Mandriva 2010.2, and includes a number of changes and improvements relating to the architectural side, correcting errors identified in the beta and refine the graphical user interface.

OpenThinClient 1.0.0 supports smart cards

The OpenThinClient GmbH has released their thin client distribution, including the free management tools in version 1.0.0.

The Ubuntu-based operating system has received numerous updates for the latest Atom processors and Nvidia to support ion platform. Updated software is including in the form of Citrix Receiver 11, Firefox 3.6, Thunderbird 3.1 and OpenOffice 3.2. While the boat is from the network via PXE standard, it is now also the option, regardless of the server to boot from local media.

OpenThinClient 1.0.0 supports the use of smart cards, for example, the insurance cards and health insurance Datev cards. Firefox 4 – eighth trial

Mozilla provides for a functioning four major release of its browser again a task to the tester and sent another beta to the field.

Avian 0.4: alternative Java VM running on ARM

Avian is a virtual machine that implements a part of the Java specification. The resource-saving open-source implementation is now available in version 0.4 with new features.

New features include support for Linux on the ARM architecture. She joins i386, x86_64 (Linux, Windows) and PowerPC (Mac OS X). Moreover, it is now possible to use the class library of the OpenJDK project, instead of Avian own Class Library. In addition, the developers have improved support for applications with their own class loaders, and fixed some bugs. Only in the upcoming version 0.5, the developers want the Java software, Eclipse, Tomcat and the Dacapo benchmarks correctly put on Avian plus OpenJDK to work.
