Shotwell 0.8.0 Now Available

Yorba, developers of Shotwell, the open source photo manager for GNOME, Announced That version 0.8.0 is now available.

NoMachine NX 4.0 to alternate with closed-source license

The second preview release of NX 4.0, the Italian manufacturer NoMachine the features of the upcoming version of its terminal server software. With version 4.0 the first time all NX versions are under a closed source license.

Flexibility through software development in IBM Cloud!

KDE developer Frank Karlitschek has announced a free beta version of Qt-Creator-ins, developed by the project Bretzner.

Meet the new free font from ParaType

ParaType issued new PT Serif fonts for free (available under the OFL) swimming. This is the second free headset (the first was PT Sans), who released ParaType in the project of the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation. The project is part of a program devoted to 300 anniversary of the reform of the Russian alphabet.


PT Serif
– is a transition from a humanistic antique finish (serif), designed to meet the sharing of grotesque PT Sans (sans serif font chopped) and agreed with him on the metrics, proportions, color saturation and picture. Fonts include all characters used in alphabets titular languages of the Russian Federation.

Release of a music player foobnix 0.2.3

Google launches YouTube channel dedicated to open source

With companies the size of Google supporting free software , the picture looks even better. In this case, the Mountain View company has decided to launch a channel on YouTube with the aim to organize and display all the videos related to the “open source projects in Google.

In recognition of the vital role that open source plays in Google, the Open Source Programs Office have the task of maintaining a healthy relationship with the community of free software development.

For now, the channel has 14 videos, plus links to many other themed connected.

Mozilla, possibly compromised users addons

Mozilla has warned the company registered users of the site addons.mozilla.org, that Mozilla mistakenly posted on a public web-server is a file that contains private information, including e-mail, name, last name, md5-hash of user passwords.

Windows port of F-Spot in the works

For a few weeks working out the developer Timothy Howard to port the F-Spot photo management for Windows.

Wary Puppy 5.0 for older desktop computer
