The alpha version (3.0 build 21 701) of μTorrent, the popular application for the torrent network is now available for download. Obviously, this is not the final liability release and is necessary to use the program through the terminal. Future versions will offer more than this application. ΜTorrent 3.0 alpha report that work well with Ubuntu 9.10 (or later) Debian 5 (or later) and Fedora (or later), the other distros have not yet been tested but should work. It will be necessary to have the kernel 2.6.1913 or later and there are still some problems with 64-bit systems, so that is only available at the moment, 32-bit version. Here you will find the download area.

A New Year
Published on January 1st, 2010 in Uncategorized
Did you ever wonder why the new year starts in the middle of winter?
The GHQ being in a sub-typical climate does not experience a true winter, so I never really gave it much thought. I did read something about it though long ago and found this on wikipeda today.
” The uprisings in Rome’s Hispanic provinces oblige the year’s consuls to take office earlier than the traditional date of 15 March, a change that becomes permanent. Some suggest that, as a consequence, 1 January becomes the first day of the Roman year.”
The new year is a good time to “Refit and Re-organize”, and that is just what I will be doing this month.
