While having a dedicated server is great, the cost of running it, not so much. I’ve had this server for 18 months now and done very little with it, other than run a few personal sites. The original plan was find things that might help offset or even pay for the servers upkeep. I never got around to getting that done. I need to find ways to offset the cost, and will be looking at ways to do just that in the near future.

Don’t expect to see banner ads or anything, that isn’t going to happen. However some change is in the air and will arrive soon.

For music-producer: Linux Multi Media Studio (LMMS) provides the user with an all-round package to einzuspielen own music to mix and post process. The program has a built-FX Mixer with 64 channels, supports MIDI keyboards and does the same with a variety of effects and plugins. All in all a comprehensive tool that need not hide from commercial software.

The long wait is over: yesterday, so on Valentine’s Day, which has Debian team the final version of Lenny put online – 22 months after the fourth Debian As usual for Debian developers not to put the latest packages but for stability.

Under the title ” Running Windows in Linux malware “Antivirus vendors McAfee has published on his blog a test that will show that, worms and other parasites for have been written to run Windows on Linux viruses.

Now panic is appropriate? Hardly. For the simple trick is to Wine: First, according to testers the tool under Ubuntu 8.04 installed and then set up a number of pests. The result should hardly surprise anyone. Why should Windows programs run under Wine but not a pest?

In less than an hour I’ll been on my way to FUDcon F11, in Boston. While I tried I wasn’t able to complete my first Linuxkast in time to post before leaving. Maybe I finish it over the weekend.

I been thinking about adding a picture a day to the site, a 365 project if you will. Reading a post by another blogger today with his own 365 project reminded me I need to get mine started. I am not sure exactly how I want to present them. Do I make a blog post for each one or just add one to the front page side column everyday. I will figure it out later.

Kommando Linux turned one today.

While I didn’t do everything I wanted to on the site over this year, I had fun doing the things I did get done, and learned one or two things along the way. Let’s hope I apply some of it this year .
